They are looking for a consultant with a practical knowledge of the risks associated with each stage of the lifecycle and substantial experience in conducting technical reviews of renewable energy assets.
This opportunity will enable you to work with teams across the globe, stretching your technical and consultancy skills and providing energy / renewable energy consulting services across a variety of projects and renewables technologies, with a primary focus on wind.
Responsibilities
- Delivering technical due diligence on utility scale wind farm projects for Investors, Lenders, IPPs and Developers
- Monitoring and reporting on wind projects through the construction and operational phases
- Providing technical engineering support at all stages of the project development cycle
- Reviewing of project design, contractual documentation, environmental studies, planning permission, health and safety reports, grid offers and grid connection agreements
- EPC/TSA/BoP tender design, co-ordination, management, evaluation and review
- Support developers in contract negotiations with turbine suppliers, BoP and O&M contractors
- Project risk management, including construction, operational, and financial risk
- Preparation and review of technical and non-technical reports
- People and project management, ensuring effective communication within the project team
- Providing oversight and Quality Assurance of reporting produced by other members of the team
- Liaison with clients and stakeholders
- Leading commercial activities such as proposal writing and client presentations
- Supporting business development activities
Requirements
- Relevant experience working in the sector for a technical consultancy, project developer or IPP. Consultancy experience working on Lender’s TA, Construction Monitoring or Owner’s Engineering assignments preferred
- Strong practical knowledge, both technical and commercial, of how renewable energy assets are developed, constructed, operated and financed
- Excellent commercial skills for a client-facing role
- Project management experience and capability to lead a project team
- Fluency in English with excellent report writing skills and attention to detail
- Engineering degree (or relevant technical degree)
- Knowledge of engineering regulations, international standards and certification requirements for wind turbines
- Knowledge and understanding of the wind market and future prospects/trends in the renewables sector
- Good organisational skills, IT skills and excellent knowledge of MS Office package
Desirable criteria
- Practical, hands-on knowledge and experience of site, factory and turbine inspections
- Knowledge of other renewable energy technologies, namely solar PV and battery storage is highly desirable
- International experience with exposure to different markets (within Europe and beyond)
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment with project teams based across different offices
- Understanding of project development economics and project finance
- Fluency in other languages highly desirable
