UK Power Generation Developer, Owner & Operator – Carbon Capture & Decarbonisation Projects
North West England is preferable (London Travel required)
 
Overview:  Oversee the creation and execution of carbon reduction strategies through carbon capture, guiding projects from initiation to investment decision and transition to construction. Establish a long-term carbon reduction business, including services for external assets.
 
Primary Responsibilities
Commercialisation of Carbon Reduction:

• Generate revenue from carbon capture across the current portfolio.
• Focus on reducing emissions from existing assets and developing carbon capture services for external clients.

Project Oversight:

• Lead carbon capture development projects to the final investment decision.
• Define project parameters, budgets, schedules, risks, and deliverables.
• Follow a gated process for investments, securing stakeholder buy-in.

Stakeholder Management:

• Select and manage advisors, consultants, and contractors.
• Negotiate contracts with key partners.
• Provide on-site support for projects.

 
Additional Duties:

• Support business improvement initiatives.
• Complete tasks as directed by management.
• Follow HSEQ policies and company procedures.
• Mentor junior team members.

 
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:

• Right to work in the UK.
• Willing to travel within the UK.
• Degree or diploma level education.
• 5+ years’ experience in renewables, infrastructure, energy, carbon, or waste sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen and data analytics skills.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and SharePoint.
• Energetic and able to work in fast-paced, changing environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and commercial awareness.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety culture and business excellence.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of waste management, EfW sector, and carbon markets.
• Ability to explain complex issues clearly.
• Financial literacy.
