Responsibilities
The Land Manager will:
- Oversee Land Acquisition: Lead the process of acquiring land for renewable energy projects, from choosing sites to getting them up and running.
- Handle Negotiations: Take charge of drafting and negotiating Heads of Terms (HOTs), Option and Lease agreements, and other land rights with landowners and their representatives.
- Build Relationships: Develop and maintain good relationships with landowners, their lawyers, and agents.
- Stay Informed: Keep up with market trends and rates to ensure competitive offerings while maximizing project value.
- Support Transactions: Assist with land transactions and closing projects, including managing due diligence processes.
- Coordinate with Legal Team: Work closely with the in-house legal team to monitor land agreements, track milestones, and manage risks.
- Advise on Transactions: Provide advice on land transactions related to joint ventures, acquisitions, sales, and associated due diligence.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Have a degree in a relevant field such as rural surveying, estate management, or be accredited by a professional institute.
- Experience: Possess experience in renewable energy project development and land/property acquisition.
- Knowledge: Understand the commercial aspects of renewable energy development and operation.
- Transaction Skills: Be skilled in land and real estate transactions, including legal documentation and procedures.
- Specialized Experience: Ideally have experience with NSIP, DCO, and renewables-related land agreements.
- Business Sense: Be commercially savvy with good business acumen and risk awareness.
- Mobility: Have a full UK driving licence and be able to travel frequently for site visits and meetings.
