Seeking experienced and motivated Chartered Surveyor to join a highly successful Energy and Renewables team.

With a long tradition of rural land surveyors in sustainability and climate change, this client is growing its energy team across the UK.

Role

Work alongside clients; representing and advising landowners on renewable energy developments and projects. This role principally involves representing landowners, promoting land, evaluating offers and negotiating terms with the preferred developer. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to landowners, promoting their land for renewable energy developments and ensuring their interests are well-represented throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in negotiations with developers, advising on heads of terms and reporting to clients with recommendations.
  • Work closely with colleagues, solicitors, accountants, and other professional advisors to provide the best advice to clients.
  • Conduct regular site visits nationwide to appraise sites, build relationships with clients and meet with developers.
  • Be an active communicator, maintaining professional relationships with clients, providing regular updates on progress and maintaining momentum in negotiations.
  • Contribute to the development of future revenue streams by actively developing business within the Energy and Renewables market
  • Maintain continuing professional development; ensure up to date technical knowledge and business skills.
  • Act as a point of contact for others in the firm – and provide sound, accurate advice.
  • Be accountable for sharing technical / professional knowledge with others within own discipline area

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience, with a background in representing and advising landowners on renewable energy developments and projects.

•             MRICS RICS (Desirable but not essential)

•             Experience in negotiating documentation or commercial leasing negotiations

•             Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office

•             Any experience with mapping software, preferably GIS

•             Excellent report writing skills

•             Friendly and professional approach

•             Accuracy and attention to detail

•             Ability to prioritise and deal with competing deadlines

•             Strong people skills with an ability to communicate via a range of mediums

•             Financial acumen and commercial awareness
