About the Business
Our client is a leading renewable energy investment and operations company focused on the UK on groundmount, commercial and industrial (C&I) solar sector. The organisation manages a substantial portfolio of onsite solar assets across a wide range of clients, with a rapidly expanding pipeline of new projects. Their mission is to deliver efficient, reliable and sustainable energy solutions that enhance long-term asset performance and investor value.
The Role
The Asset Manager will play a key role in optimising the commercial and technical performance of a growing portfolio of solar energy assets. Working as part of a high-performing asset management team, you will be responsible for ensuring best practice operations, performance optimisation, and stakeholder reporting across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement best practice asset management principles to maximise long-term asset value.
- Oversee the operational performance of solar PV plants, addressing technical issues in collaboration with internal teams and external contractors.
- Develop and manage business plans, budgets, and capital improvement projects.
- Produce accurate and timely performance and financial reporting for investors, lenders, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and deliver value-enhancing opportunities across existing assets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE standards, project contracts, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the quarterly valuation process, providing technical and commercial input and performance analysis.
- Collaborate with the investment team to provide technical insight and operational feedback on new and existing projects.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on asset performance, implementing corrective measures where necessary.
The Person
- Degree or equivalent technical qualification in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline (a Master’s degree is advantageous).
- Significant experience in solar asset management or operations within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong understanding of HSE legislation and a commitment to best practice standards.
- Highly organised, with a hands-on approach to problem solving and issue resolution.
- Experience managing O&M contractors and ensuring compliance with service-level obligations.
- Confident communicator with experience engaging with investors, lenders, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and data management skills, with the ability to interpret performance data effectively.
- Commercially aware, able to identify risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated by delivering high standards of operational excellence.
