One of Britain’s most innovative and ambitious renewable energy companies. This role sits within the high-voltage infrastructure management contractor and an Independent Connections Provider (ICP) division of the business.
As a market-leading turnkey solutions providers, they design and deliver major and complex projects within the renewable energy sector.
One of the largest utility-scale battery energy storage systems installers in the UK and have delivered over 1.2GW of BESS capacity.
The Role:
We are looking to recruit a SHEQ Advisor to join our growing team. Reporting to the Compliance Manager you will support the business and the SHEQ Manager in delivering projects safely, without any ill-health risk to personnel whilst protecting the environment and ensuring the quality of the services.
Responsibilities

• Provide support to the SHEQ Manager and Directors in promoting a positive culture and continual improvement.
• Devise and implement initiatives to improve SHEQ performance.
• Ensure business compliance with ISO standards and internal processes.
• Maintain supplier and sub-contractor approval lists and accreditations.
• Assist in developing SHEQ software for better compliance and user experience.
• Conduct internal audits according to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
• Support project teams in delivering projects by understanding key legislation, notably CDM Regulations.
• Act as Principal Designer or manage the process when appropriate.
• Write construction phase and environmental management plans.
• Complete risk assessments and method statements.
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Conduct site audits, raise actions, and track evidence of close-out.
• Ensure tools and equipment are inspected and calibrated per regulatory requirements.

The Person:

• The ideal candidate will have a proven background in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably in the utilities sector.
• You will have a full knowledge of legislative requirements and best practices, specifically CDM regulations, working at height, and electricity at work.
• NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent and TechIOSH.
• You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively problem-solve and think outside the box.
• You’ll be highly organised with an ability to prioritise, and a professional demeanour and presentation.
• An individual who is self-motivated, driven, and goal-oriented, with a proactive approach to work tasks and a willingness to learn new skills.
• You will need to be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and have an eye for accuracy.
