This UK office in London and Scotland or South Coast. They are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects.

We are searching for a BESS Data Analyst

Responsibilities

This role is essential for Analytics to manage our clients' BESS Installations.

Performance Optimisation:

  • Optimise performance, predict failures, manage health, and improve financial outcomes.
  • Analyse operational data to identify trends, optimise energy output, and enhance overall system efficiency.

Health Monitoring & Prediction:

  • Develop models to monitor battery health, predict degradation, and identify potential issues like thermal runaway or cell failures before they occur.

Financial & Investment Analysis:

  • Provide data-driven insights to support investment decisions, assess BESS project performance, and optimize revenue streams.

Safety & Risk Management:

  • Detect anomalies and risks, such as thermal or self-discharge issues, and ensure warranty compliance.

Data Strategy & Insights:

  • Develop and implement data strategies to gather and analyze large datasets, providing clear, user-friendly dashboards and reports for various stakeholders.

Commissioning & Operations:

  • Use data analytics during the commissioning phase to reduce costs and accelerate deployment, and in ongoing operations to manage state of charge and improve maintenance strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Programming languages like Python and libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, and NumPy.

  • Proficiency in data wrangling, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Experience with SCADA systems and cloud-based platforms.

Sector knowledge:

  • An interest in understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and their operational parameters.
  • Knowledge of key BESS performance indicators like cycle tracking, round-trip efficiency (RTE), and state of health (SoH).
  • Awareness of safety challenges such as thermal runaway and methods for detecting anomalies.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field like Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Several years of experience in data science, data analytics, or a related role, preferably in an energy analytics
