Plant Maintenance Technician – Bio Power

This client has one of the largest portfolio of biogas and AD facilities across the UK.

They need a Plant Maintenance Technician to support their operations function.

Job Description

To provide first line maintenance to a large scale, renewable energy facility. This role will ensure downtime is reduced or eliminated and complete preventative maintenance to meet the company KPI’s and budgets.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Maintenance and Repairs
  • Ensure industry leading plant performance by maintaining equipment to a high standard and efficiently carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure high levels of Health, Safety and Environmental practice with a duty of care to yourself and others.
  • Maintain and operate the plant following policy and procedure.
  • First Line Maintenance and Repairs
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on process equipment including, pumps, shredders, macerators etc.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on mechanical sorting equipment.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on a variety of gas handling equipment including blowers, compressors, upgrading units and filtration systems.
  • Carrying out full site PPM’s and managing the inspection regime with a software-based CMMS system
  • Carrying out repairs by deploying fabrication and welding equipment.
  • Fault Finding, Diagnosis and Reporting
  • Perform mechanical, electrical and C&I fault finding on a variety of process equipment using a mixture of conventional techniques, SCADA analysis, PLC fault finding and PID diagrams.
  • Write job cards and fault reports to a high standard using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Assist the senior engineer with stock management and procurement
  • Management of contractors including RAMS review and issue of permit to work.
  • Key contributor to the delivery of on-site capital projects
  • Assist plant operators with processing as and when required.
  • Fault Finding and Diagnosis Using key skills to identify and rectify faults in a timely manner.
  • Meeting KPI’s

Requirements

  • Time served Technician with a heavy industrial background
  • Knowledge and skills within AD and gas generation
  • Experience of mechanical and fluid handling equipment and processes
  • Experience of gas handing systems and associated regulations
  • UK driving license.
  • GCSE level, including Math’s and English.
  • ANY Engineering qualification
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Teams and SharePoint experience/training.
  • Fabrication and welding competency

Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge of mechanical and electrical repairs and fault finding in a heavy industry
  • Anaerobic Digestion experience would be an advantage
  • Confident and effective communicator to all grades and levels of colleagues
  • Diligent, hands on and professional technician Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint proficient.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional, respectful team player
