Asset Manager – Solar

Company

This renewable energy company is part of a large energy investor, specialises in the origination, development and management of commercial and residential solar systems and portfolios on behalf of institutional investors.

 

Role

They are looking to invest in the future of our business and are therefore recruiting an Asset Manager who will be contributing to best practice asset management across our portfolios, working closely with functional teams to optimise long-term commercial and technical performance.

This is an exciting, newly created, varied role, where you’ll manage the portfolio with a team working across a range of commercial, residential and ground mounted solar portfolios owned by institutional investors.

Whilst we are looking for a permanent appointment, we will consider fixed term contract.

The role is quite broad delivering services to clients including:

  • Establishing/refining systems and processes to improve commercial and technical oversight of projects and performance monitoring
  • Management of accurate and timely stakeholder reporting, including reporting to investors and internal stakeholders
  • Owning business plans, budgets and other initiatives on existing & new assets
  • Responsible for ensuring the onboarding of new solar assets
  • Ensuring compliance across the portfolio with project contracts, HSE, regulation and policy
  • Monitor and report asset performance and implement strategies for improvement of performance and mitigation of risks
  • Developing, implementing and then managing schedules of work programmes to improve the quality, safety and performance of solar assets
  • Work closely with engineering & electrical partners ensuring their work is completed on time, to standard and in budget

 

You

Knowledge and experience of asset management and operations in the wider renewable energy industry is essential; solar PV experience would be advantageous.

  • Passion to drive excellent client service

  • Commercially astute and financially literate
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Strong results orientation & problem-solving skills
  • Diplomatic and engaging personality – the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with Clients and Contractors, but also the ability to push back where needed
  • Sounds data management skills
  • Good team player
  • Ability to think strategically and prioritise in a fast paced, often ambiguous environment
  • Good degree in any discipline but finance or business management would be ideal
  • Outstanding MS Office skills, in particular Excel (which should be advanced)
