Technical Performance Engineers provide data analysis expertise to the Asset Management team, with the aim of maximising generation and profit for the asset owners by ensuring the efficient operation of power plants.

Responsibilities 

  • Analyse operational data, identify technical performance issues and risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide general technical support to operational wind farm management teams
  • Build, manage and improve engineering models to analyse data in order to accurately report on performance and detect changes in behaviour of the operating assets
  • Collaborate with in-house and external consultants
  • Continually assess the value of analyses and recommended actions
  • Research, evaluate and recommend methods to improve performance of generating plant

Requirements 

  • Investigative nature– naturally inquisitive, proactive, solution focussed and has sense of ownership on work
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle several projects and high workloads with demanding timescales
  • Ability to work as part of a team collaboratively and react positively to challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal skills ensuring effective discussion and transfer of information between areas of the business, site teams, contractors and clients
  • Demonstrable experience of continuous improvement and engineering model development
  • Experience in data analytics and reporting
  • Exposure to some programming languages is desirable (preferably Python)
  • Experience in, or detailed knowledge of, renewable energy project design and component functionality
  • Degree qualified mechanical or electrical engineer, or similar science subject
