Senior/ Engineer, London Hybrid

The client is an independent energy efficiency and renewable energy company in the United Kingdom.
Using energy audits, innovative engineering, utility-scale solar farms and deep energy refurbishments, they apply Greentech technology to the challenges of controlling emissions toward clean, renewable power.
Role
- The Senior Engineer is responsible for working on assignments covering all aspects of public, industrial and commercial energy usage, energy savings, utility plant redevelopment and CO2 emission reduction.
- The Senior Engineer will formulate, evaluate and prepare technical analysis and specification of schemes during feasibility studies, scheme design and project implementation.
Responsibilities
- Energy Analysis: Model and analyse energy efficiency technologies, design strategies, and controls, related to end uses for retail, commercial and industrial site and buildings.
- Collect and analyse monitored site data on performance of systems. Feasibility studies: Assessment of existing system configuration and operation at client sites. Compilation and analysis of data
- Conceptual design of energy related projects Preparation of final report and presentation Scheme Design (Front End Design)
- Further definition of conceptual design from feasibility stage including on-site assessments as necessary Finalisation of scheme selection
- Development of heat and mass balance for the selected scheme
- Preparation of full equipment list with performance/sizing/selection for key energy equipment, all major pipework lines, pump3 (including pressure capabilities), heat exchangers including definition of control philosophy Preparation of P & ID, layout and scheme drawings
- Production of an outline wark package far contractor to provide pricing and assess accordingly Development of savings calculations and pricing to +/- 10% far project capital approval
- Project Implementation
- Process design documents (e.g. Design Basis, PFD, H&MB, ELD) Safety reviews (e.g.
- Design Risk Assessment, HAZOP, SIL Assessment)
- Equipment specification and selection Calculations (e.g. pressure drop, relief valves, equipment sizing) Plant layout
- Interpretation and implementation of client standards
- Technical Support throughout procurement and construction process for utilities projects including:
- Technical scope of works for sub-contractors Interface with suppliers
- Approval of design changes Resolution of issues
- Site visits
- Responsible for safe commissioning of utilities projects including:
- Preparation of commissioning plan
- Lead interactive planning sessions with client/sub-contractors Preparation of IQ/OQ/PQ protocols
- Lead commissioning team on site Execution of commissioning protocols Project sign off
- Technical supervision and mentoring of engineering staff. General Duties
You
- Engineer with 3yrs+ experience, preferably process engineering with support to CHP plant process operations, Heat pumps or refrigeration.
- Either commissioning, process performance testing, optimisation, problem trouble shooting, implementing plant modification, and supporting quality controls on maintenance and capital projects during the various project phases.
- The Senior Engineer will be expected to work in areas covering CHP, refrigeration, HVAC, lighting, boilers, compressed air and control schemes.
- The Senior Engineer will assist in the trial and development of new products and technology.
