Development Project Manager- Wind, Solar, Storage, Green Hydrogen

This pioneering Developer, Owner and Operator is in are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Development Project Manager to join a growing development team and become part of the continued ambition for growth.

This position will be a key part of the development team, managing a large and growing portfolio of projects across a range of technologies. This could be, Onshore Wind, battery storage, solar PV and hydrogen projects.

Their pipeline now extends to 9GW across the world

The role will require taking ownership of projects and leading them through the development process, from the

point of initial identification, to being ‘shovel ready’, with ongoing support during project construction and

financing.

*The preference is for someone located in the Northwest of England, Glasgow- Scotland to develop projects across that region.

 

 

The Role

• Lead with the delivery of new development projects, working closely with the acquisition and land team

• Direct the preparation, submission and management of planning applications and associated discharge of planning conditions, managing third-party consultants

• Work with our connections and grid team to assess the viability of sites, support the application process and maintain secured connections

• Develop strong relationships with landowners, agents and other stakeholders

• Generate and maintain project schedules, risk registers, budgets and take projects through our internal project management process.

• Undertake commercial modelling of opportunities to assess their viability and achieve milestones.

• Represent with involvement in workshops, industry forums and working groups as required

• Work with our in-house GIS and design team to screen sites and input on site design

• Undertake due diligence on projects they are evaluating or looking to acquire

 

You

*They can take on a range of candidates from junior to senior leads *

• Ideally at least 2 – 3 + years of experience within the energy industry

• Any experience in all phases of project development, with specific experience in origination, planning, land agreements and connections

• Commercial management skills to maintain project budgets, undertake financial modelling and assess the commercial viability of projects

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential

• Desirable degree educated in a relevant subject, although other qualifications will be considered based on experience

 

• Excellent oral, written and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and work as part of a team

• Highly organised and able to work within a fast-paced environment and react proactively to workflows

• Take ownership and drive tasks through to completion

• Adaptable and pragmatic, with the ability to quickly understand key issues and ensure resolution for the successful delivery of projects

• Travel will be required as part of the role
