Technical Asset Manager

 

To perform Technical Asset Management services across a number of renewable energy assets in accordance with the Asset Management Agreements

It is envisaged this role will cover primarily Solar and Battery Energy Storage projects but there may be requirement to cover other assets (e.g. wind farms) depending on business requirements).

Job Purpose/Summary Details

The Technical Asset Manager shall be responsible for carrying out Technical Asset Management of a number of Solar and Battery Energy Storage assets. The AM shall interface with other parts of the team and external stakeholders as required to carry out their duties; key interfaces include:

  • Technical Asset Management – shall be responsible for ensuring that all Technical Asset Management obligations are completed in timely and efficient manner
  • Compliance Management – shall ensure that all operating assets adhere to statutory requirements for Health, Safety and Environmental performance and operating in compliance with key project agreements (e.g. Lease, Planning Consent, Grid Connection Agreement etc)
  • Contractor Management – shall be responsible for managing various service providers (e.g. O&M contractors) on the renewable energy asset. Shall be responsible for working closely with such service providers to ensure they perform their

Key Accountabilities

  • Performance management – shall have oversight of the technical performance of the asset. They will be responsible for reviewing O&M contactor performance reports and verifying contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (e.g. site production availability, performance ratio etc). Seeking out and implement opportunities to optimise the technical performance of the asset where possible.
  • Reporting – They will be responsible for producing asset performance reports in accordance with the AM contract
  • Stakeholder Management – They will be the primary point of contact for the landowner and any other external stakeholders (e.g., local authorities, members of the public) and managing they key relationships

Knowledge

  • Experience of managing 3rd party contractors (essential)
  • Operational experience of renewable energy assets (preferred)
  • Reviewing and preparing technical performance reports (preferred)
  • Familiarity with computerised SCADA systems and maintenance management systems (preferred)
  • Engineering/Science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of technical operations of Solar Farm and / or Battery Energy Storage projects
  • Health and safety management system in context of operational renewable energy assets.
